Final Report to Governor & General Assembly due June 1, 2020 (Chapter 52, Acts of 2019).
In June 2019, the Work Group to Study Child Custody Court Proceedings Involving Child Abuse or Domestic Violence Allegations was formed (Chapter 52, Acts of 2019).
The Work Group is to study court processes when allegations of child abuse or domestic violence are made during child custody court proceedings. Further, the Work Group will consider best practices, and science-based, trauma-informed decisionmaking for children in traumatic situations. Finally, the Work Group is to recommend how State courts could incorporate the latest science into court proceedings involving the safety and well-being of children and other victims of domestic violence.
Authorization for the Work Groups ends November 30, 2020.
